Call your veterinarian if your pet develops any of these serious side effects; fainting; urinating more or less than usual, or not at all; fever, chills; easy bruising, or bleeding; swelling, rapid weight gain.

Less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to use Enalapril, but speak to your veterinarian if your pet experiences; cough; loss of appetite; dizziness, drowsiness; sleep problems; dry mouth; nausea, vomiting, diarrhea; mild itching or skin rash.

In patients with heart failure, with enalapril without associated renal insufficiency, symptomatic hypotension has been observed. This is most likely to occur in 2.5mg patients with more severe degrees of heart failure, as reflected by the use of high doses of loop diuretics, hyponatraemia or enalapril renal impairment. Similar considerations may apply to patients with 2.5mg heart or cerebrovascular disease in whom an excessive fall in blood pressure could result in a myocardial infarction or cerebrovascular accident.
